My Story
Katherine's formative years were spent in a small town western NSW during the 1970s, where she was raised with humble farming beginnings. Despite feeling different from a young age, she remained steadfast in her commitment to her studies and eventually attended Charles Sturt University, where she continued to excel academically. At the age of 19, she underwent a gender transition, which was a significant turning point in her life. Following this, she began working in the public service, where she gained valuable experience and honed her skills. Later, she moved into private enterprise and traveled extensively, which broadened her horizons and exposed her to different cultures and ways of thinking. In 2016, Katherine launched "The Diversity Shift," a public speaking and mentoring company that aims to shift the conversation around diversity from mere tolerance to full acceptance. Furthermore, she was elected as president of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Business Association and has promoted visibility and awareness of transgender and gender diverse matters in the community, utilizing her leadership position to fight for LGBTI rights in the corporate sector. In 2024, using her skills and expertise developed over several decades in the corporate world, Katherine launched several online businesses that have been thriving ever since.
